How to improve serve consistency in tennis?

My first serve is powerful but only lands in about 40% of the time. I then double fault too often on the second serve. Any tips for building a more consistent motion? Currently self-coached.

Film your serve from the side. 90% of consistency problems come from the ball toss position. Your toss should be slightly in front and to the right (for right-handers). Practice toss-only, no swing.

Slow down your service motion dramatically during practice. Muscle memory is built at slow speed first. Once consistent, gradually increase pace over a few weeks.
